kolbasoj sen limoj

A new non-national sausage company was launched in Reykjavik, Saturday 17 June. The event is a turning point for sausage culture, and the history of sausage business.

For years the sausage has suffered decline, while snacks and quick meals like hamburgers, pizza, and sushi have conquered the world.

Kolbasoj sen Limoj is Esperanto and means ‘sausages without borders’. The company will make non-national sausages of the highest quality. By basing its sausages exclusively on organic Icelandic lamb meat, Kolbasoj sen Limoj offers its products to meat eaters of all faiths. And by adapting Esperanto as its working language Kolbasoj sen Limoj intends to do global business in a truly non-national spirit.

The launch of Kolbasoj sen Limoj took place at the Living Art Museum, Reykjavik. During the event Icelanders could sample a new kind of hotdog, which featured the new Kolbasoj sen Limoj lamb sausage, as well as fresh artisan sausage bread and a special KSL red pepper sauce. The event also featured a speech, interpreted by local Esperantist Baldur Ragnarsson.
